Swollen Feet In Pregnancy

Feet looking a bit puffy? A little bit of swelling is normal during the second half of pregnancy. This condition, aka edema, is due to your body retaining excess amounts of water. How does this happen? Your growing uterus is putting pressure on your veins, which slows circulation and causes blood to pool in your legs. This pressure also forces fluid from your veins into the body’s tissues - the perfect recipe for swollen feet during pregnancy. If you feel the swelling seems more significant, contact your caregiver. But in most cases, you can find relief simply by staying hydrated and eating a healthy diet.

Leg Cramps In Pregnancy

During your second or third trimester, you may experience cramping in your legs. For some, these uncomfortable muscle spasms can cause restless sleep. Leg cramps during pregnancy are common, although surprisingly, no one can be sure what causes them. Your growing belly, increased hormones or food choices could all contribute to pregnancy leg pain. To help, try to stretch, maintain a healthy diet and rest your feet from time to time. Simple solutions like these can reduce cramping, so you - and your legs - can rest easier at night.

Swollen Ankles In Pregnancy

Are your ankles suddenly looking like, ughhh, cankles? A little bit of swelling is normal during the second half of pregnancy. This condition, aka edema, is due to your body retaining excess amounts of water. How does this happen? Your growing uterus is putting pressure on your veins, which slows circulation and causes blood to pool in your legs. This pressure also forces fluid from your veins into the body’s tissues. Pregnancy Varicose Veins

Varicose veins during your first pregnancy are common, and they become more so if you become pregnant a second time (yippee). Why? Your changing body is creating extra blood that puts pressure on your blood vessels, especially in the veins of your legs. Your veins are already doing their best to push all of that extra blood up to your heart. Add the pressure your growing uterus places on your pelvic blood vessels and before long, varicose veins appear.

Pregnancy Spider Veins

If you’re noticing tiny, purplish red lines on the surface of your legs, they’re probably spider veins. Why you? And why now? Your pregnant body is creating an increased amount of blood, which puts pressure on your blood vessels. The added pressure makes these tiny veins swell and become more visible. Plus all of the extra hormones you’re producing are wreaking havoc on your blood vessels, big and small. And if leg veins are common in your family, than guess what you’ve inherited? Bingo! Pregnancy spider veins.

Tired of bluish, wormy-looking varicose veins taking center stage on your legs? Most commonly caused by pregnancy, genetics and standing for long periods of time, varicose veins are more than a beauty issue, especially when they become uncomfortable. But if you’re not ready to hit the doctor’s office, there are plenty of varicose vein solutions that can improve circulation, conceal their appearance and ease the pain.

"worth every penny"
"Around the fifth month of my fourth pregnancy, I began to experience painful varicose veins in my legs along with uncomfortable swelling of my ankles. I checked the medical supply stores in my area, but they wanted $150 and didn't have any in stock. So I did some checking online and came across these. What a heaven sent!!! They are affordable and I received them in a few days. At first, they were a bit of a challenge to put on, but after I did it few times, it's not such a big deal. What a difference they made!!! No more pain!!! I still get a little swollen, but nothing like before. You could definitely wear these with a skirt, but they can tend to fall down a little and get bunchy at the ankles. They feel great on my expanding belly and are worth every penny. "

"Sheer yet very effective"
"These maternity pantyhose are everything they promise to be. Sheer yet very effective. Almost immediately when donning them I felt relief. They are also easy to put on which is usually not the case with compression hosiery. I am very pleased and will purchase your regular pantyhose after the baby is born. Thanks, Liah. "

"They have been an absolute life-saver."
"Being 8 months pregnant in the middle of the summer made me a little leery of purchasing hose! But I had major edema and leg pain so I was willing to try anything. I am so glad I bought these hose. They have been an absolute life-saver. I wear them everyday to work and by the end of the day I still do not have ANY swelling or pain"

"These tights are light and amazingly comfortable"
"These tights are a godsend! I have terrible varicose veins in my right leg and have had the EVLT procedure in my left leg. Now I'm expecting my 3rd baby and my veins are painful and so ugly. I have used medical compression stockings in my other pregnancies and started in this one but they are so horribly constricting and uncomfortable that I want to cry every time I put them on. These tights are light and amazingly comfortable, especially in the crotch area where other brands tug and are so irritating! I love these tights and I know I can make it through the next 5 months with these! Especially in the summer months since these are airy and lighter than all other brands I've tried. Truly worth every penny! "

" They are very comfortable on my stomach and I am 8 months pregnant"
"These are the best maternity compression hose I have found. They are very comfortable on my stomach and I am 8 months pregnant. I wore them on a 12 hour road trip in the car and didn't have any swelling in my feet or legs. I have tried other brands and none were comfortable for my belly - but these are great! "

"Great product! "
"I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable these actually were for support hose. I expected them to be restrictive, and too tight on the tummy, and that is not the case at all. They provide the support I need for my legs, and just enough in the tummy, and still have plenty of room to grow. Great product! "
